Catoctin Clear
- A mild German style ale made with pale and a generous
amount of Munich malts. The Kolsch is pale in color, has a fruity aroma and
smooth finish. A good choice if you are starting to try beers with more flavor.
Dirty Little Blonde
- An American style light lager that anyone can enjoy. Light taste on the palate and
designed to please a person tired of the light flavor of a big commercial product
beer. From the entry level craft of beer drinker to someone looking for a really
refreshing beer, our Blonde lager fits the bill.
Annapolis Rocks Pale Ale
- An American style pale ale, brewed with pale and crystal malts and a touch of oats.
Copious amounts of Cascade Hops are added late in the boil for a pleasant floral and
citrus aroma. A very refreshing ale that may leave you wanting another.
Big Ben Nut Brown
- Born from the traditions of England, this flavorful
ale has the balance that the Queen could be proud of. Our Nut Brown is
bronze in color with a velvety smooth taste and subtle chocolate note. Lower
alcohol content and subtle hoppiness makes it the perfect beer to enjoy during
the day, night or whenever you desire a great ale.
Tuscarora Red
- Our Red Ale was brewed to bring out the most malt flavor possible. Made from
numerous styles of caramel malts, used in near excessive quantities. Our red ale
defines malt flavor. A brilliant scotch like color and pleasant toasted malt aroma
are complimented by a bold caramel finish.
Schifferstadet Stout
- Classic dry Irish. This stout is made from highly roasted malts used for color.
Oats are also added for an extra creamy mouth feel. With coffee and chocolate
aromas, this ale is very flavorful, but don’t be fooled by color, dry Irish stouts
are always very light in body.
Schwarzbier
- Often callen black beer, falls under the category of a German Lager. Color is as
black as stout but don’t be fooled, this Schwarz is as light in body as our Kolsch.
Highly carbonated and easy to drink, expect mild notes of chocolate in the flavor
and a subtle caramel aroma.
Seasonal & Cask Conditioned Beers
- Barley and Hops’ Head Brewer, Greg
Curran is always presenting just the perfect beer for the season. Still
following the true aspects of traditional brewing, he has developed many beers
that compliment the conditions outside, from the hot summer and our Hefe Weizen to
the cold winter and our Winter Warmer. Ask your server which seasonal or cask
conditioned beer we are serving.
Barrel Aged Jim Stout
On Tap January 9th
Barrel Aged Jim Stout: “Jim” as in “Jim Beam”. I’ve simply taken a used Beam barrel and
aged our oatmeal stout in it for about 2 weeks. I then filled it into casks and tapped
it on our hand pump. (you know what that’s all about right?)
I usually fill the barrel with stout twice. The first fill is always the most flavorful
and when I say flavorful I mean bourbon, bourbon, and more bourbon. The second fill is
always a bit more subtle, you kind of have to work your senses a bit more. I prefer the
2nd fill best.. - Greg Curran.
